About Dustin

Dustin's primary mission is to write songs that communicate the deep need we all have as people to fully connect with God the Father thru Jesus Christ by the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, and then to share those songs thru live performances and recordings. As a songwriter, his goal is to communicate what many people feel/need, but have trouble expressing. As a worship leader, his goal is to "get out of the way" and let people connect with God by participating in the singing of songs that the Lord has given to him and other songwriters in the body.

Dustin taught himself to play guitar over 25 years ago and began turning the poetry he had written all his life into songs almost immediately. Songwriting has been his passion, his calling, and what he feels is his greatest gifting, although the performance side, including leading corporate worship, has also been a priority and lots of fun. One of the greatest moments in a songwriter's career is when he or she is able to teach a group of people an original song and hear them connect with it and sing it to the Lord in true praise and worship - Dustin has been fortunate enough to have this happen on multiple occasions.

Dustin's current indie CD release, entitled "My Recovery", was released on July 24, 2009. Dustin and lifelong friend Bobby Vigil collaborated again on the project and the songs were recorded at Bobby's home studio in Estes Park, CO. "My Recovery" is a lyrical and musical representation of the recovery process that all Christians (all people, really) need to take at some point in their spiritual journey. Celebrate Recovery is a biblically based, Christ centered 12-step program that helps willing participants get over life's hurts, habits and hang-ups through surrendering to Jesus Christ and adopting a program of recovery principles into their everyday lives. The songs on Dustin's new CD have been inspired by CR and are aimed at helping those that are on the CR path, although they will also connect with all believers on many levels.

Dustin was born and raised in Denver, CO. He lives in Aurora, CO with his beautiful wife Michelle and their daughter. Dustin has served on several church staffs over the last 25+ years in both youth and worship pastor positions. Dustin most recently led worship for the Celebrate Recovery ministry at what was his home church of Smoky Hill Vineyard in Centennial, CO. Dustin, Michelle & kids now attend Renovate Church in Centennial, a church plant begun in 2016 with Greg & Susan Russell and many other families; friends both new and old. Dustin has 4 adopted kids from a previous marriage, 1 step-son, and 1 daughter with his wife Michelle.

The newest addition to the family has been the 2 grand babies that have richly blessed his life from his oldest son Jacob.
